Interreg IV

Structural Funds 2007 - 2013: Maps of Transnational Cooperation areas

• Interreg III A : cross-border cooperation - between adjacent regions aims to develop cross-border social and economic centres through common development strategies.
• Interreg III B : transnational cooperation - involving national, regional and local authorities aims to promote better integration within the Union through the formation of large groups of European regions.
• Interreg III C : interregional cooperation - aims to improve the effectiveness of regional development policies and instruments through large-scale information exchange and sharing of experience (networks).

 Interreg IV A "Nord" - information in Finnish, Saami and Swedish.

• The Interreg IV A "Nord" programme is divided into three subprogrammes: North Calotte, Kolarctic and Sápmi. Comprises the area of North Calotte, i.e. the region of Lapland in Finland, the province of Norrbotten in Sweden, the provinces of Nordland, Tromssa and Finnmark in Norway as well as the areas of Murmansk, Arkangel and Nenetsia in Russia. In addition, the region of North Ostrobothnia in Finland and the province of Västerbotten in Sweden are included in the programme as so-called bordering areas.

Neighbourhood Programme Euregio Karelia 

• Contains practical information on cross-border co-operation between three Finnish counties (Northern Ostrabotnia, Kainuu and North Karelia) and the Republic of Karelia, Russia. Also a list of funded projects is available. In Finnish. 
• The Programme contains elements of Interreg and Tacis programmes at the regional level. The aim of the Programme is to support cross-border economic and social co-operation within the region in question.

Northern Periphery Programme 2007-2013

• The Northern Periphery Programme 2007-2013 aims to help peripheral and remote communities on the northern margins of Europe to develop their economic, social and environmental potential. The success of the programme will be built on joint projects creating innovative products and services for the benefit of the programme partner countries and Europe as a whole.

Interreg IVA Pohjoinen

• Ohjelman tavoitteena on valtakunnan rajojen ylittävän yhteistyön kautta tukea taloudellista ja sosiaalista kehitystä ohjelma-alueella. Ohjelma käsittää Pohjoisruotsin, Pohjoissuomen ja Pohjoisnorjan sekä Sápmin.  Norrbottenin läänin lääninhallitus toimii Interreg IVA Pohjoinen ohjelman hallintoviranomaisena ohjelmakaudella 2007-2013.

Interreg IVA Nord

• Målsättningen är att stärka ekonomisk och social utveckling genom stöd till samarbete över nationsgränser. Programmet omfattar norra Sverige, norra Finland och norra Norge samt Sápmi. Länsstyrelsen i Norrbottens län har utsetts till förvaltningsmyndighet för EU-programmet INTERREG IVA Nord under perioden 2007-2013.

Baltic Sea Region Programme 2007-2013

• Community initiative concerning Transnational co-operation on Spatial Planning and Regional Development.
• Eleven countries around the Baltic Sea work together to find joint solutions to common problems.
  

Interreg IVC

• Two main priorities are targeted: ‘Innovation and Knowledge economy’ and ‘Environment and Risk prevention’. These priorities reflect the strategy of the European Union to encourage growth and jobs in line with the Lisbon and Gothenburg Strategy.
